DEPARTMENT 56 SHOWROOM TOURS

Part of the NCC convention activities in June 2008 are several scheduled bus trips planned by the convention committee. One stop will be the Department 56 corporate showroom.

These tours will be held on Thursday, June 26^th and Sunday, June 29^th. Check the convention website (http://ncc2008convention.com/Registration.htm) for sign-up information and times*. Registration for these tours must be handled through the convention.

If you are a local convention guest or a guest with your own transportation, you are welcome to drive to Department 56 any time during our scheduled tours (Thursday 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM, Sunday 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM) If you come on your own, please plan on arriving at least one hour prior to closing to allow for sufficient time to view the entire 10,000 foot showroom.

This will be a self-guided tour of our entire showroom and we have some special features created just for this event. Besides the traditional 90 foot historical diorama of The Original Snow Village which chronicles the development of our Villages starting in 1976 to the very newest introductions for 2008, there are two brand new displays featuring selected retired pieces from both the Dickens’ Village and Christmas In The City. To draw attention to the 10^th anniversary of The Original Snow Village Halloween, our talented display artists interred some of the “deceased” (retired) Halloween lit buildings in a spooky crypt complete with a graveyard scene. In addition visitors will be able to see all the current Village pieces and all current giftware items. We’ve got some wonderful products to see! And bring your cameras – there are lots of great ideas to “borrow” for your own decorating needs.

 
*If you are not able to join us this weekend, please remember we offer showroom tours most Fridays throughout the summer. (To make a reservation for one of the regular tours please call Lit Town at 1-800/ 548-8696. We will start taking regular reservations May 1^st).
